Promoting Healthier Lifestyle Choices

“The mission of Hand In Hand Multicultural Center is to empower individuals, ethnic and minority families, disadvantaged, and at-risk populations to become healthier--enabling individuals to contribute actively and productively to their communities.”

The Southwest Missouri area is served by Hand In Hand Multicultural Center, a uniquely different organization which serves great numbers of underserved and difficult-to-reach populations with a focus on individual healthier lifestyles and community health.

Hand In Hand and many community volunteers work tirelessly to improve the health outcomes of low-income, ethnic, and minority families and individuals, particularly children and women.

The Hand In Hand team finds strength in working with a variety of partners who focus on community health including: community organizations; faith based groups; local, state and regional advocacy groups; academic institutions focused on improving healthier lifestyles; community and economic development organizations; health and other social service agencies; intermediaries; and others involved in developing comprehensive health literacy In healthier and more active communities.

Hand In Hand utilizes all methods available to develop and further this work, convening and supporting networks, employing strategic communications, investigation and research projects, fund intermediaries, and other opportunities to collaborate in working for these healthy ideals of our society.

3 V's For Life Healthy and Active Communities Initiative is a partnership with the Missouri Foundation for Health, Forest Institute of Professional Psychology, Springfield-Greene County Health Department, University of Missouri Extension, RecFin of Nixa, and Greene County Ethnic Ministries.
